Cyber Security in Israel and Germany: Challenges and Opportunities, May 23, Berlin

Cyber security is increasingly getting more attention in Germany as more companies deploy Industry 4.0 solutions in their production environments and digitize various business processes.

This event will focus on collaboration between German and Israeli companies on the Cyber Security front, selected security trends, including ICS security. The panel session will include time for open-discussion between the panelists and the audience.

Second only to the U.S. in terms of cybersecurity investment, 2017 was an excellent year for Israeli cybersecurity startups, with dozens of companies being formed, breaking fundraising records, and producing solid exits. As a leading innovation powerhouse, Germany is ripe for knowledge-sharing with strong global players, which this event is designed to promote and encourage. Nir Donitza, Senior Manager of Business Development and Partnering, Deutsche Telekom

In his role, Nir leads the business development activities with Israeli companies in the Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data domains. Nir has a multidisciplinary academic background in the fields of Computer Science, Accounting and Finance, accompanied by over 12 years of practical experience developing international business partnerships, leading financial audit teams, providing IT consulting services and as a cyber expert and a hands-on hardware technologist (Israeli elite ICT unit alumni).

Bernd Jäger, Practice Lead IoT/ICS Security, Deutsche Telekom

Starting his career as a kernel-level software developer for communication devices, Bernd quickly made his way to the Cyber Security Defender side of life, designing highly specialized security solutions, building a SOC in London, running a security consulting team conducting penetration tests before becoming a Chief Information Security Architect. In 2016 Bernd became a CSA Research Fellow and is currently holding certifications for the disciplines Forensics, Intrusion Analyst, Reversing Malware, Web App Pentesting, Security Management. Bernd recently joined Deutsche Telekom to run the ICS/IoT Security Practice, helping our customers on their journey securing their ICS/IoT environment.

Liron Barak, CEO & Co-founder, BitDam

Liron Barak, CEO and Co-Founder of BitDam, has over 10 years of experience dealing with the most sophisticated cyber threats and exploitation techniques. Prior to founding BitDam, Liron served in unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps where she managed teams of highly skilled individuals and was responsible for the development of cyber technologies which were used by the entire intelligence community. Liron graduated her bachelor degree in computer science during high school and did her MSC while serving the army with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning.

Adam Wolman, VP Sales, CyberX

Adam leads CyberX’s sales and partner management in EMEA & APAC. He brings more than 15years of sales and channel experience. In his role, Adam directs the go-to-market strategy and the end-to-end sales process to successfully penetrate and grow new territories, build and nurture a partners’ network and accelerate the company’s footprint. Prior to joining CyberX. Adam held sales management roles at Windward and Aeronautics. Adam holds a Bsc. in Computer Engineering (Cum Laude) from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

Dr. Christof Kortz, Cyber Ventures Lead, innogy Innovation Hub

Christof is Cyber Ventures Lead at the innogy Innovation Hub. Engaged at the interface between corporates and international start-ups, Christof manages scouting, investing and growth activities for cybersecurity startups that enable securing the digital energy system of the future. He has more than 20 years experience in the energy business and held various senior positions in strategy, innovation and business development. Christof was awarded with a PhD in nuclear engineering and holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Bochum, Germany.
