What is Stream?
For 10 years, WPP has hosted an event called Stream. Instead of key-notes and pitches; we gather together small groups of clients, partners, and friends for three days discussion in a simple but beautiful setting.
Past participants include Anderson Cooper, Ana Ivanovic, Jack Dorsey, Marissa Mayer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nassim Taleb, Shane Smith, Jeff Weiner, Daniel Ek and Lachlan Murdoch,Anne Wojcicki, Joe Tsai, Imran Khan and Mark Thompson alongside leaders from AT&T, Apple, Avon, BAC, Colgate, E&Y, Equinox, Ford, GSK, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, Nestlé, Nike, Paramount, PepsiCo, Revlon, Samsung Unilever, and Under Armour among others.
Named as “one of the world’s best technology conferences by WIRED” it’s a bit like TED, but smaller and with more debate. Founded in 2007 as an annual three-day meeting, Stream has grown, with over 2,000 brands, agencies and media companies joining us every year at one of the seven annual events: Stream Asia, Stream SXSW, Stream Indonesia, Stream LatAm, Stream Cannes, Stream Europe, Stream USA and Stream Africa.
What they say
“In my humble opinion by far and away the most inspiring and useful days in the annual calendar of events”
Nick Drake, T-Mobile
“When [you] invited me I was intrigued but didn’t know quite what to expect. The event was far richer than I could have imagined – and a genuine pleasure all the way around. If I had to describe it in 5 words I would choose Free flowing intellectual media cocktail. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best, I would give it a 5”
David Rabkin, American Express
“Surprising Fresh Perspectives about Future” Maria Elisa Carvajal, Colgate
“Why do I love Stream? Because people are in jeans and are ready to interact, instead of suits and ties making statements.” Esther Dyson, Edventure
“Inspiring” Keith Weed, Unilever
“Without a doubt, the best conference I’ve ever been to (“un” or otherwise), and I am raring to get back into the office next week, determined to bring more of this spirit and vision into my business” Charlotte O’Sullivan, Mulberry
“Stream is an eye-opener for me. This is the real world and once you work in the corporate world, it’s easy to lose touch, even interest… and end up being somewhat self-centered. Stream is a refreshing interlude, in a formatted year of reviews and meetings. No agenda! Free-flowing discussions! Stuff that has nothing to do with my job or my industry – that is what’s inspiring. I wouldn’t want to endure three days of marketing or FMCGs. I want three days of random thoughts, unusual encounters and great vibe” Eric Jumbert, Colgate
“Meeting a large group of people that are passionate, smart, and enjoy what they do, is inspirational. It recharges the batteries. Makes me want to go find more of them. I can be pretty introverted so being in a large group of people like that, and knowing absolutely no one, was quite intimidating for me. However, wherever I sat, folks were incredibly kind and welcoming. Frankly, by the second day, I made a conscious effort not to go to a lot of the digital education discussions. Found the “off-topic” discussions to be very rewarding. I’m big on connecting dots that are either farther away or don’t appear to be related, Stream introduced me to a lot of new dots.” Douglas Brian Macdonald, Qatar Airways
