On the surface, Turkey has enormous potential to become a globally competitive startup ecosystem: it’s straddling Europe and Asia; half of the country’s 77 million population is under the age of 30; and a significantly high proportion of university graduates studying mathematics, engineering and IT.

And yet, when you hear the words “startup scene”, Turkey isn’t the first or second place that comes to mind. For a country that has so much going for it, it’s a wonder why the startup scene hasn’t exploded as we’ve been promised it will for so many years (even despite the political turmoil).
But wonder no longer – now’s your chance to learn all about the Turkish startup scene from one of the biggest angel investor networks in the country, BIC Angels. For this unique meetup, we’ll be joined by Dr. Joachim Behrendt, founding partner of BIC Angels, by Mehmet Akalin, Investment Director of BIC Angels, and by the founders of Influanza, Erasmusinn and Shippn, some of the most interesting startups from the Turkish ecosystem
